What has the cultural scene of the past six years looked like? How did its key players visually approach and reach out for such an avid audience? Design enables communities, groups, organizations and businesses to address their demographic. As we continue to grapple with the shape of our own visual identity, it seems that the classic ‘east meets west’, in both ideology and form, is a recurring theme. That said, the curiosity about Arabic iconography and letter forms is an indication of exciting art and design explorations to come. Creativity is key, novelty is essential, and the shock factor is still exploring its own boundaries.
